Another one of the live sessions that we shot for DEAFKID has now been released. Check it out!
Following up the live version of their previous single ‘Vigilante’ posted online last week, Deafkid have this week posted a Tears For Fears cover version on their Youtube channel, and announced a string of UK dates >>
“show that thoughtful pop can still be groovy as hell” The Line Of Best Fit
“Something remarkable has landed” DIY Magazine
‘’Splicing together elements in a seemingly carefree fashion’’Clash
’Like a ghostly, more winsome version of Alt-J at their melodic best’ NME
Deafkid is made up by musician producer duo Christopher Lockington and Florian Sauvaire. Prior to forming Deafkid Chris and Flo worked with experimental hip hop artist Ghostpoet and provided additional production on his Mercury Prize nominated album ‘Peanut Butter Blues And Melancholy Jam’, also forming the live band for subsequent Ghostpoet tours from 2009-2012.
Their debut AA side single ‘Talk’ / ‘Pig’ and its follow-up ‘Vigilante’ both picked up mass critical acclaim, gaining press support in the UK from NME, Clash, DIY Magazine and The Line Of Best Fit, as well as being picked up by Zane Lowe as his Next Hype record.

BATB have been filming some live music sessions with the mercury prize award winning musicians from DEAFKID over the last few weeks. Watch this space for the video releases this month…
BATB will be producing a series of films next week, which will include some aerial footage of London. I took out our new toy with a gimbal mounted GoPro Hero 3 for a test flight in preparation. The footage is from two 20 minute runs, at Christchurch park in Ipswich, and Suffolk Yacht Harbour.
Portsmouth City Museum will be home to an incredible new exhibition dedicated to Portsmouth’s iconic Tricorn, this March. The exhibition will not only look at the building from an architectural perspective but will also explore it’s place as part of the fabric of the Portsmouth community, ten years after it was demolished. Love it or hate it, the structure certainly made people passionate about Portsmouth and it was a key part of the skyline of the city for decades. Strong Island are working with the museum, and are looking for photos or video of the iconic structure for the exhibition. More info at www.Strong-Island.co.uk
I snapped these pictures in 1996 – a few years before it was demolished.
